I've known Catherine from The Anchoress for a long time, and she's always been a massive inspiration to me not only in her songwriting and production, but in the way she works and moves in the industry.

We'd talked about doing something together for ages, but always found ourselves at the wrong ends of a schedule. So one night I came up with the idea of just asking her to record a little spoken word section, which I could use at the end of a track I was working on. As a prompt, I asked her what she'd tell her past self, and she sent over an absolutely wonderful piece, which I worked into the end of the track, which became Patterns.
